v also with unlenited -g-, and d- may replace f-, see IGT, Verbs § 93 . 3 pl. pret. do fiachadar, Lib. Flav. i 32va 12 . The stem féig- also occurs (cf. féig, SR 6122 . LU 4123 ). The relation of these forms to O. Ir. do-éccai is obscure. Perhaps there was an O.-Ir. fégaid scrutinizes (cf. féig `keen' ?) which became confused with do-écci. Cf. comfechinn (gl. ut contuerer) Ml. 113b9 . In: nad cuicsedar .i. nad fegar `that it be not taxed or examined ' (gl. uult ... non ... taxari) 0 36a38, the form is apparently pass. pres. ind. of a primary verb. One would expect the subj. Cf. fegar fri ndirie, ZCP xii 402.12 . coic conara fugill fegaiter (v.l. aithfegar) and `die fünf Urteilswege [sind es] die da gemustert (spezifiziert) werden' Cóic Con. § 1 (Thurn. ib. p. 61 , compares the gloss just cited, and continues "das Verb feg- später fēg- bedeutet `mustern, genau betracten, nach sein Qualitäten bestimmen, herausheben'.
