v Mid. Ir. formation prob. from O. Ir. do-fúasailci through loss of the first preverb, according to Pedersen Vgl. Gr. ii 564 , but see AM 48 . Used side by side with oslaici (foslaici), e.g. fuaslaicthir ... oslaicther, TBC-LL¹ 1003 , 1006 . co forsluicther ... ni fuaslaicfimne ... fonosailc-si, ZCP xiii 24.24 , 25 = Bürgschaft p. 32 § 2 . Cf. ronfuaslaice gl.) don-forslaice), Hy i 18 (T). In deuterotonic form, e.g., fa fuasailcci, Bürgschaft p. 32 § 2 . fon-uasluice, Laws v 214y (see other exx. from Laws text below), the f is inserted analogically. Cf. such forms as do-fúarat, do-fuissim. A (probably spurious) compd. fuatuaslaic- is found, Laws Comm. In Laws ii 362.12 , v 128.20 ; 216.10 it glosses fo-fuaslaice; in iii 38.19 arosloice.
